Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) is a large tertiary Children’s Hospital that provides regional and supra‑regional services to include most dietetic clinical paediatric specialties. We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 paediatric dietitian to join our dynamic dietetic team for an 11‑month fixed‑term contract to cover a maternity leave. This role offers the opportunity to work within specialist paediatric services, managing complex and long‑term conditions while contributing to education, service development and quality improvement within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high‑quality, evidence‑based dietetic service within specialist paediatric clinical areas.
- Manage a delegated specialist caseload of children and young people, including those with chronic and complex conditions.
- Interpret medical, biochemical and nutritional data to inform clinical decision‑making.
- Advise medical, nursing and wider MDT colleagues on nutritional management.
- Support safe and timely discharge, working closely with community and external services.
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines, policies and patient resources.
- Support and supervise dietetic assistants, students and less experienced staff.
- Deliver training and education to a range of healthcare professionals.
- Actively participate in audit, research, quality improvement and service development.
Eligibility and Experience
Experience in paediatric dietetics, including work with complex or chronic conditions and the ability to interpret relevant clinical data and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
