As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in making every night safe, comfortable, and meaningful for the people we support.
About the role
This is a rewarding waking night role supporting five gentlemen aged between their 30s and 60s to stay up late to watch a football match, listen to music, watch videos or spend time doing jigsaw puzzles. At times, they may need reassurance, conversation or help settling, or simply value quiet companionship through the night. Your role is to respond with empathy, consistency and understanding, adapting to what each person needs in that moment.
Shifts – 10pm – 7am
Responsibilities
- Carrying out regular “keeping safe checks” to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable.
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe.
- Recording important information using our easy-to-use IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs – so we can provide the best care possible.
- Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night.
- Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them.
- Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.
