About the Role:
- Safely unload refrigerated vehicles, typically handling up to three deliveries per day, ensuring goods are managed with care and efficiency.
- Operate palletised handling equipment, such as pump trucks, or perform trailer swaps depending on the shift schedule, maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.
- Drive a modern, well-maintained fleet of Scania and Volvo vehicles, all under 6 months old ensuring reliability and comfort on the road.
- Deliver goods to depots across the Southwest and Midlands, adhering to planned schedules and route requirements.
- Provide outstanding customer service, engaging professionally with clients both in person and over the phone to represent the company positively.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the transport team, offering real-time updates to support smooth operations and manage customer expectations.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay current with operational procedures, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Full UK Class 1 (CE) Licence — essential for operating articulated vehicles.
- Valid Driver CPC (DCPC) and Digital Tachograph Card — ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards.
- Experience with fridge trailers is beneficial, but full training will be provided for those new to refrigerated transport.
- Previous experience delivering directly to client sites is advantageous and demonstrates confidence in customer-facing roles.
- Strong commitment to customer service, with a professional and courteous approach at all times.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
- Confident and polite communicator, with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
