Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of a passionate team, you will play a core part in delivering fantastic customer service. You’ll provide a warm welcome and give information about the Attingham Estate to ensure each visitor has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

Hours: 15 hours per week. Your working pattern will be flexible across the week, on a rota basis. You’ll be required to work weekends and bank holidays.

Contract: Fixed term contract until 31-Oct-2026. For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What it’s like to work here: Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll be working alongside the Welcome and Service Team Members, Service Assistants, and an amazing group of volunteers. Our properties are full of life and locally loved. The Welcome Team is based flexibly across Attingham Park, Sunnycroft, Town Walls Tower and Cronkhill throughout the year. The Welcome Team is very enthusiastic about welcoming everyone and the excellent service our team provides plays a huge part in fulfilling this goal.

What you’ll be doing: From open to close, we’re a 7 day a week operation, 364 days a year. You’ll be on hand in our Visitor Reception to answer queries and ensure visitors can find everything they need for their visit, help with site coordination, and talk about conservation work and exciting programming and events for our visitors to enjoy. As the largest conservation charity in Europe, we work hard to raise funds to continue to care for our sites forever for everyone. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so you’ll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent service to all our visitors, every day. You’ll promote National Trust Memberships and actively talk to our visitors about how they can support our cause. There is plenty of opportunity to learn new skills. This is an active role; you’ll deliver high standards of presentation at the property and ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent. You’ll help maintain site presentation through litter picks, ensuring signage is clean and presentable and maintaining the visitor reception tidiness and cleanliness throughout the day.

Who we’re looking for: We’d love to hear from you if you’re customer focused with an understanding of the importance of great service, a team player but also can work on your own initiative, well organised and adaptable, willing to learn new skills, and have a positive attitude.

The package: The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too. Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary. Free entry to National Trust places for you, a guest and your children (under 18). Season ticket loan. EV car lease scheme (for roles that meet the salary criteria). Perks at work discounts such as gym memberships, shopping discount codes, cinema discounts. Holiday allowance up to 32 days relating to length of service, plus holiday purchase scheme, subject to meeting minimum criteria. Flexible working whenever possible. Employee assistance programme.
