About the role

The role of a Complex Support Worker is extremely rewarding, and, on each shift, you will make a positive difference to the life of a young man who lives at home with his loving family. He is very laid back and enjoys lively conversation with his support workers; he is a natural communicator and loves to chat. This lovely young man finished college last year and is now taking the next steps to be able to seek employment as well as preparing to move into his own home with support sometime in the near future. The support is different each day and you will be there to support with all aspects of what adulthood looks like. He will need some support with personal care and someone who can offer support and guidance. He is a keen gamer, enjoys walking his dogs and watching his favourite shows on the TV, and he loves to get out and about, so you will need to be a driver who is confident enough to drive the Motability vehicle that is provided. He wants to build his confidence with community access so he can be more independent.

About You

You MUST be a confident driver with a valid full driving licence or equivalent as you may be required to drive the Motability vehicle with the client. You'll have an understanding of anxiety and person-centred care/support to enable a physically disabled person to lead an independent fulfilling life. You’ll make a real relationship with him and finish each shift with satisfaction that you’ve added real value.

Advantageous: Experience in providing care/support, whether this be in a professional setting or to a family member or friend, although full training is provided.
