Lotus Recruitment is currently working on behalf of a well‑established residential children’s setting to recruit an experienced and committed Senior Children’s Support Worker. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural and complex needs, and who can lead by example within a residential care environment.
The Role
- Provide high‑quality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting
- Take responsibility for leading shifts and supporting the day‑to‑day running of the home
- Act as a positive role model and mentor for support staff
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour at all times
- Support children with daily routines, education, health appointments and activities
- Ensure care plans, records and reports are maintained accurately and on time
- Work closely with managers and external professionals to support positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people in a residential or care setting
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Confidence in supporting and guiding staff while on shift
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, resilient and compassionate approach
- Flexibility to work a rota, including sleep‑ins, weekends and bank holidays
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards this
