Full‑time Shift‑based (including evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins)

Lotus Recruitment is currently working on behalf of a well‑established residential children’s setting to recruit an experienced and committed Senior Children’s Support Worker. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural and complex needs, and who can lead by example within a residential care environment.

The Role

  • Provide high‑quality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting
  • Take responsibility for leading shifts and supporting the day‑to‑day running of the home
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor for support staff
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour at all times
  • Support children with daily routines, education, health appointments and activities
  • Ensure care plans, records and reports are maintained accurately and on time
  • Work closely with managers and external professionals to support positive outcomes

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in a residential or care setting
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Confidence in supporting and guiding staff while on shift
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Calm, resilient and compassionate approach
  • Flexibility to work a rota, including sleep‑ins, weekends and bank holidays
  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards this
