We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to support our Patient Access Team covering Reception Areas within The Royal Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust. The required hours to be worked within Receptions would be: Some evenings 4pm - 8pm Monday to Friday and/or Saturday and/or Sundays: 8am - 4pm.
The successful candidates will have the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a bigger team. PAC Support Services Team provide support for the majority of outpatient clinics at both The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) and The Princess Royal Hospital (PRH).
This role will involve meeting and greeting patients at the time of attendance and ensuring that they are booked into a clinic upon arrival, also ensuring notes are ready for the clinical staff. The attendance will also need to be completed using the Trust’s Patient Administration System.

The post holder would be expected to use the Trust’s Patient Administration System (PAS) SEMA, within all areas of Health Records and Patient Access; this will require extensive use of a VDU, keyboard skills daily. Responsibilities include:
- Receive, sort and deliver patient records to all wards and departments, including peripheral buildings as instructed by the Medical Records Supervisor.
- Responsible for the provision of a comprehensive day to day health library service.
- Meet performance standards specific to the area they are working in.
- Ensure that when handling patient information, or discussing patient needs, confidentiality guidelines are strictly adhered to and that close attention is given to the Trust’s Confidentiality Policy and Information Governance guidelines.
- Be aware of and work within the Trust’s Health & Safety policy at all times.
- A combination of sitting, standing, excessive walking and physical effort involving moving and handling will be required.
