Aspris Telford School are looking to recruit an outstanding Teacher to join our Teaching team for 12 months. We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed teacher of maths & science to enhance our students' experience and progress. The successful candidate will be teaching our young people who present with learning needs and behaviours related to SEMH issues, ADHD, ASD and other complex needs.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS and be able to develop and oversee the mathematics curriculum and teach mathematics (predominantly Functional Skills) to students in Key Stages 3, 4 & 5 and to take on development and delivery of a science curriculum appropriate to the needs and aspirations of our cohort.

About the school: Aspris Telford School is an independent day school, located in an attractive semi-rural setting just a short walk from the historic town of Ironbridge. Ours is a small school with a big heart. Members of our team are all committed to providing a positive and nurturing experience to our students, most of whom have had very negative experiences of school before coming to us.

You will deliver a full time teaching timetable covering a variety of ages and stages, and working effectively with students with a variety of needs including ASC. You will contribute to development of the curriculum and to resources to ensure excellent quality of provision for our young people.

What you'll be doing:

  • Planning and delivery of engaging Maths and Science lessons for all students
  • Creating bespoke lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and interests
  • Preparing high‑quality teaching resources and supporting non‑specialist teachers with effective delivery
  • Assessing student progress and contribute to reporting outcomes
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding progress and wellbeing
  • Providing pastoral support to a small tutor group

The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher and ideally have experience of teaching and supporting young people within SEN.
