The Specialty Doctor will provide high quality clinical care within the designated specialty service, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and patient centred care. The postholder will support inpatient, outpatient, and on call services as required by the department.
Qualifications
- NHS experience (minimum 6–12 months in a relevant clinical setting)
- ALS certification (valid and in date)
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Valid Right to Work in the UK
- Ability to work independently at Specialty Doctor level
- Excellent communication and team working skills
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high quality clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients
- Participate in ward rounds, clinics, and emergency cover
- Contribute to the on call rota as required
- Support junior doctors and contribute to teaching
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to clinical governance
- Participate in audits, quality improvement, and departmental meetings
- Work collaboratively with consultants and the wider MDT
