Job responsibilities:

  • This list is not exhaustive and will flex and change to meet the demands of the practice, and with the successful candidate depending on what skills they currently hold, and what they are willing to work towards.
  • Provide daily routine nursing care to patients as required in accordance with clinical-based evidence.
  • Provide wound care (simple and complex) and dressings for patients.
  • Assist the Nursing and Clinical teams as and when necessary within the scope of the successful candidate.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records.
  • Ensure records and consultations are coded and recorded effectively and accurately.
  • Chaperone patients where necessary.
  • Assist GPs with minor surgery, coil and nexplanon clinics when required.
  • Assist with Vasectomy service, discharge and assisting surgeon (training required).
  • Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies.
  • Implement and be active in running vaccination programmes for adults and children.
  • Support the clinical team with all safeguarding matters, in accordance with local and national policies.
  • Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate.
  • Duties including venepuncture, wound care, BP, ECG, Ear Irrigation, injections and health promotion clinics.
  • Administrative duties including ordering, stock control and keeping rooms stocked with equipment.
