Supply Star Little Learners is working in partnership with an award-winning nursery chain in Shrewsbury, who are in search of a Deputy Level 3 (and above) qualified to support them in continuing to deliver outstanding care and education to young children aged 0‑5 years old.
Summary of role: Supporting the Nursery Manager in overseeing day‑to‑day operations, ensuring high‑quality care, and maintaining compliance with EYFS and Ofsted standards.
Responsibilities:
- Leading staff and management: Assist with staff rotas, recruitment, induction, and performance management; deputise in the manager’s absence, ensuring operational continuity.
- Managing health and safety: Ensure strict adherence to EYFS, health and safety legislation, and safeguarding policies.
- Quality assurance: Monitor and improve the quality of care and education, striving for "Outstanding" inspections.
- Building parent partnerships: Build positive relationships with parents and carers, handling enquiries and feedback.
- Administrative duties: Maintain accurate children’s records, registers, and operational action plans.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year leadership experience as Third in Charge or Senior Nursery Educator.
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Level 3 Paediatric First Aid qualification (desirable).
- English GCSE grade C/4 (if qualified after Sept 2014).
- Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework.
- Caring, enthusiastic, and child‑centred approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
All roles are subject to an Enhanced DBS (£63 if not on the update service) and two satisfactory references. You must have a clear enhanced DBS certificate to be considered for this role. If you do not have one, Supply Star Recruitment can support you in obtaining one at a cost of £63.
