  • Dependent on Experience Job Type: Full-time | Permanent We are a well-established sheet metal and structural steel manufacturing company looking for an experienced CAD Programmer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming laser cutting and punch machines, producing accurate and efficient programmes for both sheet metal and structural steel components, in line with customer specifications and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and modify CAD drawings for sheet metal and structural steel components.
  • Programme laser cutting and punch machines for production.
  • Optimise nesting and tooling to minimise material waste and maximise efficiency.
  • Interpret technical drawings and customer specifications accurately.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Ensure programmes meet safety, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Make amendments and improvements to existing programmes as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in a CAD programming role within a sheet metal and/or structural steel environment.
  • Proven experience programming laser and punch machines.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and structural steel processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with industry-standard CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Understanding of tooling, machine capabilities, and material specifications.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
