Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day operational management of Hanham, Oldland, Almondsbury and Pilning practices.
- Ensure safe, high-quality service delivery across clinical and operational teams.
- Provide visible leadership to multidisciplinary teams, fostering a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture.
- Lead on governance, risk management, quality improvement and compliance with CQC, NHS and UK legislation.
- Act as the focal point for inspections and external scrutiny.
- Service Oversight
- Ensure effective coordination between clinical and operational teams.
- Support team leads with service planning, workforce deployment and performance improvement.
- Promote quality, safety, learning and continuous improvement across services.
- Champion ED&I, SHEF, confidentiality, safeguarding and patient safety.
- Financial, Contractual & Performance Management
- Oversight of financial budgets across all four practices (working with the business manager).
- Oversight of contracts, claims, enhanced services and income streams.
- Oversee submission of QOF, enhanced services and other reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, sustainability and service delivery.
- People Management & Workforce Development
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites.
- Manage the salaried GP workforce in collaboration with the head of nursing who is responsible for return to work interviews, rota issues and compliance.
- Performance management including appraisals, development, capability and disciplinary processes.
- Support learning and development for clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Promote staff wellbeing, engagement and retention.
- Maintain safe staffing levels and workforce planning.
- External Relationships & Partnership Working
- Act as primary point of contact for NHSE, ICB, PCN, community services and suppliers.
- Deputise for the Partners at internal and external meetings.
- Oversee the Patient Participation Group.
- Represent the practices at relevant external forums.
- Support and participate in shared learning and system-wide initiatives.
