Help lead a team to turn enquiries into unforgettable events at The Grand Hotel Birmingham. You will be responsible for driving meeting and event enquiries from initial enquiry through to conversion, qualifying leads, creating tailored proposals, and converting business. You’ll liaise closely with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure details are accurate, deadlines are met, and handovers to operations are seamless, contributing to the hotel’s commercial targets and budgets.

What the role involves:

  • Lead the conversion of meeting and event enquiries, managing high‑value and high‑profile bookings from enquiry to handover.
  • Support the day‑to‑day operation of the Conference & Events Sales team, ensuring enquiries are managed effectively and in line with the hotel’s commercial strategy.
  • Coach and mentor Conference & Events Sales Coordinators to deliver exceptional standards in selling, service, proposals and client communication.
  • Manage enquiry distribution, diary management and rates to optimise revenue and maximise conversion.
  • Build strong client and internal relationships to ensure seamless delivery and memorable events.

What you can bring to the role:

  • Experience working in a Sales & Events office team and a fast‑paced environment.
  • The ability to coach, motivate and develop others in the team.
  • Excellent selling and negotiation skills, with a passion for driving conversion.
  • Organisation and attention to detail with experience of Opera or similar system.
  • A warm, confident communication style with a genuine focus on guest experience.
