Clinical research at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) supports over 300 principal investigators across more than 800 active studies, engaging 15,000 patients. The NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility provides a safe and quality‑assured environment for experimental medicine studies across adult and children’s services.
As a Band 6 Senior Clinical Research Nurse you will coordinate and deliver clinical research studies, working in early phase 1 and phase 2 trials across various disease specialities.
Comprehensive training and induction programmes are provided, and individual personal development plans will be tailored for further training opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for study principal investigators, sponsors, and patients.
- Implement study objectives and ensure studies are delivered on time and to target.
- Safeguard the well‑being of patients and conduct research within ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
- Maintain effective communication and teamwork across the research delivery team.
Qualifications and experience
- Degree level education or equivalent experience.
- First Level registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in nursing within a clinical setting, with people‑management skills.
- Prior clinical research nursing experience is advantageous.
- Flexible approach to working patterns, able to work a variety of shifts across 24‑hour periods, including weekends.
- Cross‑site working across MFT required.
