An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine at Chorley District Hospital. This is a key senior decision‑maker role within a friendly, well‑supported Acute Medicine team, working within the Medical Assessment Unit. This role is ideal for doctors who have completed Core Medical Training (or equivalent) and are looking to build confidence and experience in Acute Medicine, whether as preparation for higher specialty training or within a non‑training career pathway.

There are strong opportunities for teaching, audit and quality improvement in a department with a supportive educational culture. This post provides registrar‑level experience in Acute Medicine within a supportive, educationally focused environment. Although not a formal training post, the successful candidate will receive equivalent educational opportunities to specialty trainees, including access to an educational supervisor and e‑portfolio.

The Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust forms one of the Major Acute trusts in the Northwest with a range of specialities on site, as well as being a Tertiary Centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria in the Departments of Trauma, Neurosciences, Oncology, Plastic Surgery as we develop active and developing links with the Universities of Manchester, Central Lancashire and Lancaster.
