Salary: £95.00 - £115.00 per day (Experience Dependent)

Contract: Full-Time, Term Time (08:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday)

Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual looking to remove barriers to learning? We are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a rewarding role where you will work closely with students with diverse needs, including autism and complex learning requirements, ensuring every child feels safe, included, and empowered to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support, tailoring your approach to meet the specific needs of the child/children.
  • Learning Facilitation: Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities, utilising specialised strategies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Inclusion & Wellbeing: Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes self-esteem, independence, and social interaction among pupils.
  • Behaviour Management: Promote positive behaviour using established school techniques, dealing promptly with conflict while encouraging pupil responsibility.
  • Progress Tracking: Collaborate with the SENDco and teaching staff to monitor, record, and report on pupil achievement and progress.
  • Care & Safety: Ensure the safety of all pupils, providing assistance with personal care or mobility where required.

Requirements & Experience

  • Experience: A minimum of 6 months of experience working in UK schools or a care giving capacity (Special Education/Autism experience highly preferred).
  • Compliance: An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) and eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to effectively interact with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Attitude: A genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs and a commitment to long-term, full-time work.
  • References: Professional references from recent employers.
