Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs? Do you have experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and flexible Supply SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team at a specialist SEN school focusing on SEMH. This vital role involves providing temporary, short-term, and potentially longer-term cover across various classes and age groups, supporting pupils with complex needs to access their education and thrive both academically and socially.

The Role

  • Provide high-quality, flexible support to the class teacher and pupils.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of tailored learning activities.
  • Implement strategies and interventions designed to manage challenging behaviour and promote positive emotional regulation.
  • Support pupils' social development and communication skills.
  • Assist with personal care where necessary (training provided).
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Experienced in supporting pupils with SEMH needs (essential).
  • Resilient, calm, and able to de-escalate challenging situations effectively.

  • Hold relevant qualifications or demonstrable experience in an SEN setting.
