The Role
You will be supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, complex learning difficulties, and additional behavioural needs. As an HLTA you will deliver tailored learning activities, lead small group sessions and occasionally cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned lessons and interventions to individuals and small groups
- Support students with a range of SEN, adapting approaches to meet their needs
- Assist in the planning and preparation of learning activities
- Provide classroom cover when required
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Requirements
- HLTA status or equivalent experience
- Strong experience working within an SEN setting
- Confident leading learning activities and managing behaviour positively
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
