TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary setting based in Liverpool, who are looking to appoint a SEMH Teaching Assistant. This setting provides a supportive learning environment and is committed to helping pupils build confidence, improve behaviour and achieve their potential.
The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant on a temp to perm basis, starting as soon as possible. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will support students with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom, helping to manage behaviour, encourage engagement and promote positive relationships.
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
- Previous experience in a school, alternative provision or similar setting
- A calm and consistent approach to behaviour support
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A patient, nurturing and adaptable attitude
- A genuine passion for supporting students who need additional encouragement
