About this job

This senior role is responsible for driving commercial performance across our Housing Partnerships portfolio nationwide, supporting the delivery of multiple long‑term, multi‑million‑pound contracts and ensuring consistency and value across regions. Primarily focused on Reactive Repairs and Planned Refurbishment projects within Social Housing environments, the role adopts an account‑management approach, working across the country to support and strengthen key client partnerships. Providing strategic direction, you will collaborate with operational and commercial teams across regions, fostering consistent commercial delivery and supporting profitability and long‑term client relationships. Your overall responsibility is commercial oversight, maximizing profit, managing risk, and driving consistency across our Housing Partnerships. Working closely with regional teams, Finance, and senior leadership, you will help ensure strong commercial governance and successful contract outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial leadership across the Housing Partnerships portfolio, ensuring consistency and performance nationwide.
  • Take a client‑focused, account‑management approach, developing long‑term strategic relationships.
  • Lead the commercial function across all stages of projects, from bid to final account.
  • Drive commercial performance by maximizing value, controlling costs, and improving profitability.
  • Support regional delivery teams to ensure a consistent commercial approach across multiple regions.
  • Manage commercial risk through contract review, negotiation, and governance.
  • Review financial performance, including CVR, and provide insight to senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services within existing partnerships and across new clients.
  • Ensure strong collaboration across Commercial, Operational, and Finance teams.
  • Support dispute resolution and provide strategic commercial direction where required.

About You:

As an experienced Head of Commercial, you have held a senior leadership role within a Social Housing or construction environment, ideally across multi‑region or national contracts. Strong stakeholder and client relationship skills, proven influence at senior level. Experience in an account‑management‑style role supporting long‑term partnerships is key. Full UK driving licence required; role subject to DBS check.
