Divine Dogs grooming services are looking for an apprentice to join the team. At Divine Dogs, they offer a full groom service that you will learn, including:
- Wash
- Dry styling
- Nail cutting
- Ear cleaning
- General Husbandry
There will be contact with clients face to face and over the phone, using the database to book appointments and update information, also cleaning inside and outside areas. Divine Dogs are looking for a friendly, outgoing person to join their small team of 5 staff. Communication is essential both within the team and with our customers. A hard working attitude is definitely needed; this is a very physical, hot, messy, itchy job. You will of course also get to have cuddles and fun with some of the dogs. There will also be those who want to kiss you all over or be unhappy about being groomed, so you must be confident with all sizes and breeds.
The apprenticeship includes core values, and we like to embed these into our apprenticeship program such as functional skills in Math and English when needed. You must be a UK resident to qualify for apprenticeship funding and must not have completed this qualification previously. Divine Dogs are in a great location with access via public transport. The Apprenticeship programme does not involve any time in a classroom environment; instead, all learning is onsite on the job with real-time learning.
Training: All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day-to-day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in-person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.
Qualifications required: A GCSE or equivalent pass in English and maths is beneficial but not essential. If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.
Skills required: Confident with all breeds and sizes of dog is a necessity.
Prospects: Divine Dogs would like to find someone who would like to continue beyond Level 2 and become a long-term member of the team. They will train you from start to finish, and if you would eventually like to become a dog groomer, they will help you with all the knowledge you'll need to enjoy a career with them in the future.
