We now have a vacancy for a full time Ward Clerk to work on Ward B2 at Salford Royal Hospital. You will provide a wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward / unit staff. You will be responsible for the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients and the smooth running of the ward / department office and will also provide general assistance to the ward / Unit Manager.

  • General clerical duties as required within the department.
  • Ensure patient case notes are available, maintained and up to date.
  • Data input on the Patient Administration System (PAS), in line with Trust procedures and policies.
  • Commitment to providing a high-quality patient focused service.
  • Provide general non-clinical advice, information, and guidance of ancillary services directly to patients, clients, relatives, and carers.
  • Deliver and collect patient’s case notes, and if applicable x-rays, and investigations results from various locations throughout the hospital.
  • Accurately file reports, notes & results efficiently.
  • Ensure all ordering for the unit is completed timely whilst always considering the financial impact on the unit.
  • To accurately process, record, store and maintain patient information on the relevant in-house IT systems.
  • To accurately organise and communicate to patient using appropriate means.
  • To provide typing and photocopying support within the Day Case team.
