We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming KS2 setting in Salford, supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, and is to start ASAP. Due to the immediate start, applicants must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
Responsibilities
- Support KS2 pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
- Work on a 1:1 and small-group basis, tailoring support to meet individual EHCP outcomes.
- Assist with personal care, sensory regulation, and emotional support where required.
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working within an SEN provision, SEN school, or SEN classroom.
- Strong understanding of EHCPs and differentiated support strategies.
- A calm, patient and empathetic approach to supporting children with complex needs.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential due to ASAP start).
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to thrive.
