We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and knowledgeable person to work in a newly developed Senior Safeguarding Lead (SSL) role, on a permanent contract, at Springwood Primary School. This position will complement and assume a lead position within the school’s Safeguarding Team, by giving the successful applicant the opportunity and responsibility to lead and manage safeguarding practices and pastoral care systems, further creating a safe, supportive environment where concerns are identified early, risks are managed effectively, and pupils and their families receive appropriate emotional, social, and practical support.

The postholder will work collaboratively with the Strategic Leadership Team, providing strong and effective leadership as Senior Safeguarding Lead (SSL) to achieve the highest levels of performance and standards. This role also involves overseeing the work of the school’s Family Liaison Officers, taking a lead role in leading and managing organisational change and implementing and driving the school’s core purpose to secure success and improvement for all pupils.

Springwood is a large primary age Special School (385 pupils aged 5-11, growing to 415 pupils in September 2026) based over a number of sites, which caters for pupils with moderate, severe and complex needs. Springwood is part of The LINK Education Trust. At Springwood Primary School we are constantly striving to create the best learning opportunities for every pupil.
