We are seeking a caring, proactive and emotionally intelligent professional for the role of Pastoral and Wellbeing Practitioner. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupil wellbeing across the whole school by providing 1:1, small group and whole class emotional support, promoting positive mental health and strengthening relationships between home and school.
Responsibilities
- Provide early support for pupils and guide families where appropriate.
- Work closely with Senior Leaders, SENDCo, teachers and other staff.
- Play a key role in supporting pupil wellbeing across the whole school.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant experience and/or qualifications in education, pastoral care, child development, SEMH, family support, counselling, mental health or social care.
- Experience working with primary-aged children.
- Strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
- Calm, empathetic, professional and committed to inclusion.
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Advantage: training in Emotional Literacy Support, Thrive, trauma-informed practice, mental health first aid, attachment, emotion coaching or family support.
