This is an exciting opportunity to join an established multi-faith/belief team in Salford Care Organisation, part of the Northern Care Alliance.
As a member of the Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care team, you will be working in a diverse setting and will be required to respond to the spiritual, religious, cultural and pastoral needs of patients, visitors and staff.
The part-time position is an ideal job share and will involve working set hours/days and participating in a shared on-call rota (out of hours, weekends and bank holidays) with other chaplains. This would require you to live within a reasonable distance of the hospitals and have an ability to travel to the hospitals when needed.
The Chaplain will primarily work with and support those of a Roman Catholic faith providing pastoral and sacramental care. This will involve responding to specific referrals and visiting wards to provide pastoral/emotional care; sacramental care and rituals, as well as sharing in the training and supervision of volunteers as is appropriate.
We are looking for an ordained minister in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church. Previous experience of healthcare chaplaincy and the NHS is desirable but it is not essential. You will be eligible to work towards UKBHC registration.
