An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences – Salford Royal Hospital, part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA), for a Consultant Neurologist. The post will contribute to providing a high quality tertiary Neurology service to the Greater Manchester conurbation.
Position location: Primarily based at Salford Royal Hospital with activity at other sites within Greater Manchester. The role is a mixed job with sessions within the Acute Medical Department in Salford, supporting acute unselected take in the Emergency Assessment Unit. The post will provide neurological services in both Salford and a peripheral hospital in Greater Manchester, which follows a hub‑and‑spoke model.
The department offers a wide range of subspecialist services; applicants with training to provide a subspecialist service are encouraged to discuss this with the clinical director.
The successful candidate will join a large team of 50 Consultant Neurologists at Salford Care Organisation who provide outpatient and inpatient liaison services across Greater Manchester, serving a population of 3.2 million. The teams are well supported by middle‑grade and junior medical tiers, and by Specialist Nurse teams across the range of Neurological sub‑specialties.
