The predicted salary is between 1040 - 1248 Β£ per month.
This role will involve working within the Patients Kitchen or a busy staff restaurant providing the best possible service and experience for patients, staff and visitors. This post is 25 hours between 7.00am - 8.00pm with some weekend working.
Typical duties will include:
- Simple preparation of food items
- Food service
- Loading prepared food into the correct food trolleys
- Cleaning
- Quality control
- Waste and cash handling
Catering duties may also include working within Retail Catering services when required. You will be responsible for the following within this position:
- Assisting in the general cleaning of the premises and the equipment to the correct standards of cleanliness and frequencies as laid down in the cleaning schedules and departmental hygiene policies
- Loading the prepared food into the correct food trolleys
- Plating and service of meals to staff and visitors
- Checking of all items prepared for quality, quantity and appearance and reporting any discrepancies
- Preparation of simple food items in accordance with Department standards
- Keeping accurate records for the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Food Safety System
- Cleaning and filling of fridges & freezers
- Replenishing fridges and shelves with stock, whilst making sure stock is rotated
- Handling cash in accordance with the Trust's policies and procedures
- Informing supervisor when stocks are low
- Delivering food orders to the Wards when required
- Covering absences within the Catering Dept including Patients Kitchen and retail catering outlets when necessary
