This is an exciting time for an experienced professional to lead Trafford's drive to steer the economy and support its local community, residents, businesses and stakeholders by securing external resources for place-based projects, regeneration schemes and town-centre improvements.

As the Principal Regeneration and Funding Officer you will lead a small team to maximise external funding opportunities that benefit the community of Trafford. You will coordinate funding bids to support regeneration and growth in partnership with other teams and the Place Directorate, and manage current Local Authority Flexible Grant (LAFG) and the Communities and Place programme. You will also support the delivery of significant projects such as New Carrington, Davenport Green, Wharfside and Old Trafford Regeneration, identifying funding for their delivery.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential when interacting with businesses, the general public, partner agencies, other Council officers and elected members.

The regeneration and funding function sits within the Inclusive Economy and Communities Team, part of the Growth, Communities and Housing Service, based at the Town Hall in Stretford. You will report to the Inclusive Economy and Communities Manager and will have flexibility in hours, though some unsocial hours may be required.

Applicants must have a degree or equivalent qualification and 3–4 years of experience in a related field, with proven experience of sourcing, bidding, securing and monitoring external funding.
