Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Building Trusting Relationships: You’ll offer 1:1 wellbeing support to learners, creating a safe space where they feel heard and understood.
  • Championing Learner Success: Working closely with tutors, families, and external partners, you’ll help learners stay engaged in college life and reach their goals.
  • Safeguarding with Care: As a named Safeguarding Officer, you’ll be a key point of contact for concerns, responding with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Collaborating for Impact: You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure learners receive the right support at the right time.
  • Supporting Specific Groups: You’ll provide focused support to students with a Social Worker, Children Looked After, Care Leavers, and Young Adult Carers, helping them navigate college life with confidence.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience of supporting young people (14+) with emotional, social, or mental health needs.
  • A trauma-informed approach that values dignity, choice, and empowerment.
  • Skills or knowledge in areas like youth work, health, housing, education, or social care.
  • Confidence in maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively within a team.
