An exciting opportunity for Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant in the Stroke Team based at Trafford Hospital. You will be part of the Stroke Therapy team, assisting registered Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists in providing therapeutic care and rehabilitation to stroke patients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the registered therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitation care and supporting discharge from hospital.
- Carrying out treatment programmes as directed and reporting back to the team.
- Supporting the wider multidisciplinary team through attending handovers and sharing information.
- Carrying out administrative tasks, including note writing and data collection for audit purposes.
- Managing rehabilitation equipment and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
Required skills and experience:
- Empathetic nature and excellent communication skills with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably on a hospital ward and in moving and handling patients.
- Ability to work as directed by qualified therapists and to manage your own caseload.
- Strong IT skills and ability to use the Hive Electronic Patient Record system.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Qualifications:
- Band 3 rehabilitation role – experience or qualifications in rehabilitation, physiotherapy or related field are desirable.
- Any additional relevant training or certifications is an advantage.
