Further details about the role:
Woodfield Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teacher to join our supportive and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner to teach and support pupils with identified Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at Woodfield Academy, ensuring they can access learning, develop independence, and make strong progress both within specialist support and mainstream lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, inclusive teaching for pupils whose additional needs may act as a barrier to successful engagement in school
- Apply teaching approaches informed by experience of Early Years or KS1 practice to support KS2 and KS3 pupils whose developmental profile is significantly below their chronological age
- Assess pupils’ baseline levels and implement targeted strategies to maximise academic, social, and emotional progress
- Support pupils’ successful inclusion into mainstream lessons through well-planned transition, scaffolding, and collaboration with colleagues
