Paragon Education is currently recruiting compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils within specialist settings and mainstream schools across Redditch. We have a range of opportunities available for immediate starts and September 2026, including day-to-day supply, long-term placements, and permanent positions. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

Role

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assist children with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support learning and behaviour strategies.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, social development, and classroom engagement.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Cache Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Team Teach or behaviour support training.
  • Experience within specialist schools or alternative provisions.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and personalised learning strategies.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or Autism.
