Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00 – 16:30; Friday 08:00 – 15:00.
Overtime: Flexible overtime available after 16:30 or Saturday mornings.
We are working with a specialist manufacturing company in Redditch, seeking a Precision Rolling & Slitting Operator to join their production team.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate rolling mills and bonding machines to precise tolerances
- Operate slitting (shearing) machines for accurate metal strips
- Measure and calculate lengths and quantities of strips using Excel and mental arithmetic
- Support other production activities across the factory as required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Follow all health & safety procedures
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Calm, patient, and detail-oriented
- Strong mechanical awareness (tested in interview)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP/SAP experience is a bonus
- Willing to learn multiple machines and processes
- Commitment to a long-term role (training lasts 6–12 months)
Desirable
- Experience in metal manufacturing, rolling, or slitting
- Forklift license or full clean driving license
- Previous apprenticeship or formal mechanical qualification
