Are you an experienced EYFS teacher with a passion for early learning and a proven track record in Reception? We are currently working with a welcoming, supportive primary school in Sefton who are seeking a confident and experienced Reception Class Teacher to join their team on a long term maternity cover, starting after May half term - 1st June 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a well established EYFS setting where children are at the heart of everything the school does.

The Role

  • Full responsibility for a Reception class
  • Delivering engaging, play based learning in line with the EYFS Framework
  • Supporting children’s early development across communication, language, literacy and maths
  • Making accurate observations and assessments to inform next steps
  • Working collaboratively with an experienced EYFS team and support staff
  • Creating a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has recent experience teaching Reception
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS statutory framework
  • Confident in phonics, early reading and early numeracy
  • Passionate about child centred, play based learning
  • Organised, reflective and committed to high standards
  • Able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
