We are seeking a radiotherapy physicist with a strong interest in computing or a Computing Clinical Scientist to take a senior role within the Scientific Computing Section of the radiotherapy physics unit.
Responsibilities
- Design, monitor, develop and support clinical radiotherapy computing infrastructure to enable state‑of‑the‑art radiotherapy.
- Collaborate with the SciCom team and a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, radiographers, medical physicists and clinical engineers.
- Maintain clinical radiotherapy skills in areas such as dosimetry, Gamma Knife and brachytherapy.
- Support registration as a Medical Physics Engineer (MPE) where appropriate.
- Provide clinical and scientific advice in radiotherapy physics.
Qualifications
- Healthcare Professions Council registration as a clinical scientist.
- Significant experience in computing; applicants with less experience who demonstrate aptitude and ambition in computing will be considered, commencing at Band 7.
- Experience Banding depends on experience within radiotherapy computing.
- Applicants who have played senior roles in radiotherapy computing projects and possess a breadth of skills across radiotherapy and IT are appointable at a higher band.
