What is the role all about?
As our Quarry Operative, you’ll be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of mobile plant machinery, providing cover at other Hills Quarry sites as and when required.
What you will be doing:
- Operate fixed and mobile plant as instructed by the Quarry Manager, in a correct and safe manner.
- Carry out repair and maintenance work on fixed and mobile plant.
- Provide cover for the Foreman or Weighbridge Operator in their absence.
What we are looking for:
Essential: Previous experience using mobile plant including dumpers, loading shovel, and 360 excavators in a similar environment, holding certified tickets.
Desirable: NVQ/QCF Level 2 (SPMO). Mechanical knowledge of mobile plant; awareness of the Quarry Regulations 1999.
