General Dynamics Land Systems is looking for a Programme Quality Engineer Concessions to join our Quality team. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £36,000 to £45,000 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally.

Joining an established team based at our Merthyr facility, you will manage the concessions, processes and documentation to support this activity at the GDUK Merthyr facility. A key aspect of this role is to support ensuring the creation and accuracy of documents to support product delivery. The role will require close liaison and cooperation with the Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing teams and the wider business. This role will also engage with customers and support audits as required.

The Programme Quality Engineer will perform audits as per audit plan and will support and deputise for the Senior Programme Quality Engineer. If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:

  • Manage the efficient and effective Concessions system to ensure effective capture and sentencing.
  • Lead driving information capture and close-out of concessions back into vehicle designs.
  • Life‑cycle management of Concessions.
  • Be a point of knowledge on all aspects of Concession management.
  • Support the development of end‑to‑end management support tools such as information flows, tracking spreadsheets, metrics, action logs and project milestones.
  • Manage review, design, development and implementation of effective concession processes.
  • Support closure of Concessions via generation of embodiment plans of corrective actions into wider DLODs (manufacturing, supply chain, spares/ILS, training etc).
  • Identify and implement lessons learned to continuously refine and improve the concession process.
  • Generate daily, weekly and monthly Concession metrics.
  • Support analysis of Concessions to establish trends.
  • Support tailoring of company processes to suit programme and contractual needs.
  • Liaise and work with managers and peers in other support functions.
  • Provide support/advice to Production Managers, Engineering and other business areas as required.
  • Attendance at selected key reviews, review of key concessions documents.
  • Customer liaison and representation at key presentations.
  • Promote quality awareness within programmes.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly production quality metrics and reports for internal and external purposes.
  • Support and conduct Spot checks, Spot Audits and Audits.
  • Deputise for the Concessions Manager as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ONC/HNC in an Engineering/Quality Discipline with Quality Engineering Experience.
  • Internal Auditor Qualified.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience/knowledge of managing concessions with MoD.
  • Good knowledge of ISO9001.
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and presentation.
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours, willing to travel within and outside the UK.
