North Somerset Environment Company Ltd. (NSEC) works in partnership with North Somerset Council and delivers the following services:
- Collecting recycling and waste from over 100,000 homes and commercial businesses across North Somerset and the wider area.
- Managing Household Waste Recycling Centres at Backwell, Portishead and Weston along with two Waste Transfer Stations in Weston.
- Maintaining 1,100km of North Somerset highways including surface repairs, winter maintenance, gully management, drainage and kerbing repairs, signage and linemarking, and 24/7 emergency response services.
- HGV Driver and mobile plant training, vehicle servicing and maintenance, event cleaning and other environmental and highway maintenance specialisms to commercial businesses.

We are currently seeking motivated, professional site operatives for our HWRC site in Portishead. You will be part of a small, dedicated team that is responsible for the smooth operation of the Household Waste and Recycling Centre.
Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet members of the public as they arrive on site.
- Taking payments for DIY waste and vehicle permits.
- Monitoring and directing members of the public to correct recycling points.
- Monitoring and directing traffic on site.
- General housekeeping at site.
- To ensure mobile and static plant are always operated in a safe manner.
Qualifications:
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Hold and maintain relevant plant licences in compliance with regulations.
- Fixed rota - 5 days out of 7, including weekends.
