Full‑time position located in Porth, Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT). Day rate: £120. Fluency in spoken Welsh is essential. You will support continuity of learning and students’ progress.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and supervise pre‑prepared lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Communicate confidently with students and staff in Welsh.
  • Maintain a calm, focused, and positive learning environment.
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Take attendance registers and follow safeguarding procedures.
  • Support students with their work and encourage active participation.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff across the school.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Fluent Welsh speaker with excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, training, tutoring, or supervising children, young people, or adults.
  • Experience working in schools, sports coaching, youth work, training environments, apprenticeships, the military, customer training, team leadership, or similar settings.
  • Confident managing groups and communicating clearly with a range of individuals.
  • Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Adaptable, resilient and able to think on your feet.
  • Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills.
  • Committed to promoting an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
  • Ability to reliably travel to Porth and surrounding RCT area.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Previous school‑based experience is beneficial but not essential if you have transferable experience leading or developing others.
  • Right to work in UK, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, Education Workforce Council registration, and two professional references covering the past two years.
