Hours and Pay

4 hours per week, early afternoon during the week (specifics to be discussed in interview). Pay: £14.00 per hour, mileage £0.40 per mile.

Responsibilities

  • Accompany to outside activities such as bowling, walks, museums.
  • Suggest and participate in outdoor activities.
  • Ensure safety and well‑being at all times.
  • Interact with the boy during activities.
  • Help develop life skills including interpersonal skills, money management, confidence, independent shopping, and using public transport.
  • Travel on public transport as needed.
  • Serve as a mentor, being reliable and actively interested in spending time.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with additional needs.
  • Outgoing, energetic, bubbly, and capable of sharing fun experiences.
  • Flexible to accommodate preferred shifts.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and trustworthiness.
  • Car owner/driver willing to use car for work purposes/outings.

The role is subject to satisfactory references and DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which will be covered by the Local Authority. All necessary checks to verify legal right to work in the UK must be completed before employment. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
