This project is moving from vision to reality, and our client is looking for a visionary leader to steer a £1.25bn portfolio that will fundamentally reshape their operations. This isn't just a scheduling role; it's a once-in-a-generation opportunity to drive the transition to a greener, lower-carbon future by overseeing the construction of the world's largest electric arc furnace. Shift Patterns: Mon-Fri, 08:30-16:45 Mon-Thu and 08:30-15:45 Fri

Start: ASAP

Hybrid structure: 4 days site-based, 1 day remote

Contract: Until March 2028

Pay Rates: £31.60 - £36.88 per hour inside IR35 (Up to £70,000)

As a Planning Manager within our clients Project Controls department, you will move beyond desk-based scheduling to become a strategic driver of safe, predictable delivery. You will set the planning standards and governance for a multi-year programme, directly influencing executive-level decision-making.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience: Substantial background in planning large capital projects, preferably in heavy industry, energy, or infrastructure.
  • Technical Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of Primavera P6, schedule analytics, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Leadership: The credibility to influence senior leaders and the ability to explain complex plans clearly to stakeholders.
  • Contractual Knowledge: Proficiency with NEC contracts and schedule impact assessments is highly valued.
