We’re looking for an experienced Team Leader with proven management experience to join Field Studies Council Margam Discovery Centre. In this senior role, you’ll manage and mentor a passionate education team, oversee curriculum delivery, and contribute to the strategic management of the centre alongside the Centre Manager.
Permanent full-time contract average 37.5 hours per week. Weekly hours may vary. Starting salary is circa £33,357 per annum.

In this senior role, you will:
- Lead and manage the education team, providing guidance, mentoring, performance management, and professional development.
- Develop, plan, and oversee the delivery of high-quality curriculum-linked learning experiences that increase students’ understanding of nature and the environment.
- Support the Centre Manager in running the day-to-day operations of the centre and contribute to strategic planning.
- Participate in some hands‑on teaching in the field, working with students of all ages on a variety of science and geography programmes.
- This role also forms part of our duty rota which will involve staying on site on some evenings and overnight to deal with customer issues and respond to emergencies.
- As a key member of the senior on‑call team you will also provide support to other duty staff.

We are seeking an experienced leader with a proven track record of managing and developing teams, with:
- Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
- At least 5 years relevant work experience, with the confidence to produce and prepare teaching resources, activities and lesson plans that meet curricular requirements.
You will also have:
- A strong work ethic and pride in the quality of your work.
- A flexible, adaptive approach, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- A professional manner and empathy with the Field Studies Council’s mission.
