CCTV & Emergency Response Controller
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hrs per week / Full‑time. Controllers work 12‑hour shifts (07:00–19:00 or 19:00–07:00) on a rota of 2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off. Weekends, bank holiday working and some lone working required.
Responsibilities
- Monitor live and recorded CCTV footage
- Respond to incidents and escalated where required
- Operate the Council’s out‑of‑hours emergency response service
- Communicate with police, emergency services and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records and logs of incidents
- Support public safety through proactive observation and response
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C (or equivalent) or above
- Strong observational skills with ability to analyse visual information quickly and accurately
- Good digital literacy skills for data entry and communication
- Ability to remain calm, focused and professional under pressure
- Confidence to handle sensitive or potentially distressing situations
- SIA (CCTV) qualification preferred; commitment to obtain within 12 months acceptable
