The Governing Body of St Joseph's Catholic School and Sixth Form Centre are seeking a reliable, hardworking and flexible Minibus Driver / Assistant Caretaker to join our dedicated site and support team. This is a dual role combining safe pupil transport with a range of caretaking duties to help maintain our school environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Minibus Driver Duties:
- Safely transport pupils on designated routes, trips and activities.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure the minibus is clean, roadworthy and compliant.
- Maintain accurate mileage and inspection records.
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety and school procedures.
- Support with the opening/closing of the school site as required.
- Assist with routine maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks.
- Set up rooms, move furniture and help prepare facilities for school events.
- Carry out regular site checks to ensure safety, cleanliness and good order.
- Support with grounds maintenance and waste management.
Essential Requirements:
- Full D1 driving licence with MIDAS qualification (MIDAS training will be provided).
- A safe, responsible approach to driving and pupil supervision.
- Good practical/DIY skills and willingness to undertake manual tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to safeguarding.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing daily demands.
The salary stated will be subject to a term time only adjustment for the commencement of employment outside of the start date of 1st September.
