Grade 3 Salary: £21,423 - £22,103 pa (pro rata).

The Governing Body of St Joseph's Catholic School and Sixth Form Centre are seeking a reliable, hardworking and flexible Minibus Driver / Assistant Caretaker to join our dedicated site and support team. This is a dual role combining safe pupil transport with a range of caretaking duties to help maintain our school environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Minibus Driver Duties:
  • Safely transport pupils on designated routes, trips and activities.
  • Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure the minibus is clean, roadworthy and compliant.
  • Maintain accurate mileage and inspection records.
  • Follow all safeguarding, health and safety and school procedures.
  • Assistant Caretaker Duties:
    • Support with the opening/closing of the school site as required.
    • Assist with routine maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks.
    • Set up rooms, move furniture and help prepare facilities for school events.
    • Carry out regular site checks to ensure safety, cleanliness and good order.
    • Support with grounds maintenance and waste management.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Full D1 driving licence with MIDAS qualification (MIDAS training will be provided).
    • A safe, responsible approach to driving and pupil supervision.
    • Good practical/DIY skills and willingness to undertake manual tasks.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.
    • A positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to safeguarding.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing daily demands.

    The salary stated will be subject to a term time only adjustment for the commencement of employment outside of the start date of 1st September.
