We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Agency Support Workers to join our team in Pontypool. This rewarding role involves providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with complex needs, helping them live as independently and comfortably as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical and emotional support to individuals in line with their care and support plans.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks, ensuring a person-centred approach at all times.
- Offer companionship and emotional reassurance, helping to reduce social isolation and promote overall wellbeing.
- Support individuals to access community activities, appointments, education, and social opportunities, encouraging independence and inclusion.
- Work confidently with individuals who may display challenging behaviours, responding appropriately to maintain a safe and positive environment.
- Encourage and empower service users to achieve their personal goals, build confidence, and enhance their quality of life.
- Maintain accurate records and report any concerns or changes in a service user’s wellbeing to the relevant team members.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to deliver high standards of support.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 months’ UK-based experience in a Support Worker role.
- Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour, or the confidence and ability to work in such environments.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature with a genuine passion for supporting others.
- Reliability, flexibility, and willingness to work across various shifts and settings.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, using initiative and sound judgement when required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with service users, families, and colleagues.
