Personal Care Assistant to support an 18‑year‑old boy with complex health needs. The job is part-time at £15.63/hr in Southport. The role will involve providing personal care, moving and handling, epilepsy support, PEG feeding, light housework, and assisting with social leisure activities. The hours will be both in school, at home and weekends, with additional hours available for holidays and staff sickness.
Experience in the UK with knowledge of epilepsy, oxygen therapy and PEG feeding is preferred, but full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing and hygiene.
- Assist with moving and handling.
- Support during epileptic seizures (seizure first‑aid and safety).
- Administer medication safely as directed.
- Assist with PEG feeding and suction (nasal/oral) as required.
- Provide continence care.
- Help with social leisure activities and training.
- Safeguard adults and children.
- Transport the client where required.
- Maintain accurate records, including medication logs.
- Safeguard the client and support independence.
- Minimum 2 years experience in personal care work in the UK.
- Experience with epilepsy care, oxygen therapy and PEG feeding preferred.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- First‑aid certification.
- Training in safe medication administration and continence care is desirable.
