Personal Assistant to a Disabled Child - 2 Buddies required to support a 14 year old boy 2:1 for 4 hours per week. Days to be mutually agreed. Support will be to access activities. Salary £12.71 Per Hour. Location Ross on Wye.
About Me: I live with my family in Ross on Wye. I have an LD and am on the Autistic Spectrum. I enjoy going out for walks and to places like soft play. When at home I love playing with my phone; however, my Dad likes to limit my time on electronic devices.
Job details: Your role will be to support me to go out and about. I have no concept of danger, so I will talk to anyone and can run when distressed. There may be some aspects of personal care.
About You: Previous experience of similar work is desirable. You must be patient and calm as well as being firm but fair. You will need to be a car driver/owner and be physically fit enough to chase me if I run.
About Direct Payments: Direct payments are available from Local Authorities for people who have a care and support plan in place following a social care assessment. An amount of money is allocated to purchase the assistance and care needed to live independently.
I should stress that I will be your employer and have full responsibility for recruitment, contracts, supervision, pay, training etc. A support service assists my Dad in meeting his responsibilities as an employer.
