He needs assistance with:
- Meal Preparation: Support him with preparing meals as required and calorie dense snacks to maintain his weight. Ensure meals are prepared safely, taking into account his fatigue, reduced mobility, and nutritional needs. Prompt and support him to maintain regular eating routines. Check that food items are stocked appropriately.
- Household / Domestic Tasks: Support with general household cleaning, including vacuuming, dusting, wiping surfaces, and maintaining a clean living environment. Provide assistance with bathroom cleaning, particularly tasks he finds challenging (e.g., shower area, toilet, and sink cleaning). Assist with laundry, including loading/unloading the washing machine, hanging clothes to dry, folding, and putting items away. Support with light domestic organisation to ensure the home remains safe and accessible. Assist with taking out household rubbish and recycling as required.
- General Monitoring: Monitor any difficulties he experiences and report concerns to the relevant professionals. Assist with the paperwork and forms he receives.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence.
- Enabling the employer to interact socially in their community.
- Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills.
- Providing companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation and providing social interaction.
- Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during your working hours.
- Carrying out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer during your working hours.
- Ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act.
- Being mindful of safeguarding issues and feedback any concerns to Carmarthenshire County Council immediately on (01267 228751).
- Being responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker, or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.
